Kinsale (Ireland part II)

Not wanting to fail to live up to it's image, Ireland gave us buckets of rain while we were there. Luckily, we love rain, so this wasn't a problem for us. We just spent plenty of time warming up in pubs. One of our favorite memories of Ireland was sitting in a pub while three men - one on guitar, one on accordian, and one just singing - played tradition Irish tunes for a crowd that knew every word. We just stood there - outsiders (but still welcomed) in a local pub - and soaked it all in.
It made us long for more tradition like this in the United States. With all of its benefits, this is one of the drawbacks of a 'melting pot' society: the lack of any cohesive tradition and history dating back more than 200 years. However, listening to JND in a pub comes a close second, so we'll make due. :-)
